I actually heard someone say they wanted her as President because it would be "cool" to follow the first "black" President with the first female President. I followed up with, "But we haven't had a black President ... we've had a mixed race President. If you want to have the first black President, you'll need to vote for Ben Carson." She called me a racist.

I've heard people say things like that too - "it's about time we had a woman president" etc. I don't know what to make of that. You wouldn't hire someone for a position just because of gender, even a relatively meaningless position - why do it for President?

To me it almost sounds like they're saying "what the President does in office doesn't actually matter."

Amazing how we can not have private hiring done on the basis of the applicant being a woman or a man, yet a woman can run for president on that very platform, and a former Secretary of State can tell all other women there is a special place in hell if they don't vote for her.
