You know, I thought about this... but if you took the immediate cash option and paid taxes, it probably wouldn't be enough profit to be worthwhile. Although, it might be a decent investment if you happen to have 600 million dollars and quite a few years left to live!

the $$$ spent on the tickets is a write off. the 2 reasons no one does this are (1) it's impossible to fill out and then print the tickets in time; and (2) if someone else wins and you share the jackpot, you end up losing money.
