Some Star Wars fans like The Force Awakens man, get over it. George Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney so that it would live on with new movies. He wanted new generations to be able to enjoy Star Wars. The Jedi were at the top of their game. And Luke is also the "chosen one" from a certain point of view and Lucas' own mouth. And, the force is like chi, not God, so no, it doesn't actually guide a person like God, but lends aid to a person like chi. Chi is said to "guide" people to a version of Nirvana but doesn't actually speak/influence your life.
