It's the same way for me too - my "throwaway" or "use my last submission for the heck of it" memes are the ones that usually end up doing much better than the memes I'm sure are winners lol. :)
With comments I don't take time and over think it, I believe I do that at times, but a comment is just pure spur of the moment. It's all fun as long as one person laughs at a meme it was worth making.
