Another thing, atheists don't think like that at all. We have moral standards, just like religious people. Just because we don't believe in God does not mean that we are personalityless, drugged up, depressed sacks of human beings.

Obviously, I was talking of myself. Through terrible losses, abuses, injustices, there are times where the only thing that keeps me from turning darkside is hope. To see loved ones again, that there is a higher power, a greater purpose and that evildoers will ultimately receive justice. I'd rather believe and be wrong than not believe and be wrong. I really don't see how you can discount God though but have faith in reincarnation, where's that scientific evidence...it's your life though so you do you.

I get what you're saying. I see why people follow religion, too. It's a way of them feeling better about death. They'd rather believe in a higher power that grants them a paradise upon death. And I never said I believe in reincarnation, either. It was a mistake of me to say that I fully believe that after death, we start a new life in some form. What I meant to say was that I consider the possibility of starting new life after death. Either way, I'm sorry for invading upon your beliefs. It's just as bad as a radical Christian telling atheists that they should burn in hell for not believing in God. With this meme, I was actually trying to experiment with what may get me a name on this site, but it really just brought me controversy. What was I expecting, really?

Well controversy still = comments and points. I like funny stuff myself but can't always resist some of the more sensitive topics, as much as I know I should.

I guess you can't always please everyone. This IS the internet after all.

Some atheists, such as myself, don't necessarily think that way. Though I don't necessarily think that there is a holy figure like God, I do believe that we start new life in some form after we die. I'm not a sad individual, rather one who doesn't follow religion.
