lol, figured I would be alone laughing at this one:)

I havnt listened to John Prine in years. Back in my musician days. Sitting around sharing "illegal smiles" pluckin guitars, bongos, we were gonna change the world.

You would have fit right in with my crowd... if you couldn't play a Prine song in the bar I went to, we hated you and you probably wouldn't get to come back.

I played mostly hard rock and blues and a stint in a stones tribute band but my favorite was the coffee houses and folkfest tours.

we had some great local talent in the Richmond bars back then. Every now and then because of the geography we would catch great acts up and coming or just needing a warmup before a big show in DC. I got to see Steppenwolf in a max occupancy 280ish people bar in downtown. Stevie Ray Vaughn and Thoroughgoood used to like to play there every so often too.

I lived in northern Canada so it was harder to get some great acts. But I did get to werk with Edgar Winter, Frankie Lee, Dee schneider and loaned my drum kit to Quiet Riot once. Met Nicklesuck once and that f**ker busted my kit and stole my vintage pearl kick pedal. I did alot of stage work and lights for some big shows and alotta Canadian bands. Its too bad digital camera phones werent around back then...I schmoozed alot.

Nice! Edgar for sure is a favorite! Sounds like you got to hang with some really cool people though.

Good times, late nights and fading memories. The 90's litteraly rocked.
