There should be a rule at workplaces...you must be Christian to get paid holiday time for Christmas...no need in non-believers capitalizing on something they don't believe in...

Isn't that kind of hypocritical to celebrate something you claim to not believe in. Why not be an honest person and stand up for your atheist beliefs. If you were a true atheist you would refuse to participate in Christmas, and demand and sue for an equal "holiday" to be set aside for your non-religion...that way it would all be politically correct. I think you want the best of both worlds...

You are correct. But it would be a waste of time and effort to claim a separate holiday for atheists since just not going to work on xmas works well (it's easy to plan a vacation when all go on holiday the same days). I'm practical so i won't do unneeded things like asking a separate day for atheists. Will instead milk the good things i can use out of believers.

Christmas has its origins in the ancient pagan Roman holiday of Saturnalia. Also the Philocalian calendar states that December 25th was a Roman civil holiday honoring the cult of Sol Invicta witch had its origins in Syria of all places.

isaac newton was born on january 4th on the Gregorian calendar (the one we use now). his birthday was december 25th on the old julien calendar

I know Jesus was not born in December I have no idea why people think he was. Jesus was born on the Feast Of Tabernacles around the 15th of Tishri ( October)
