Your a veteran right? You pay for insurance?

I'm a vet.. and pay. VA has coded they assign your healthcare. I can't make an appt and make a visit in a week.. or even a month. Appts are months out. Emergency room visits works.. i get immediate care. They have covered 2 surgeries. Unless it's an emergency or something service related. . A vet needs to see a primary care physician, then a recommendation to see a specialist. I can't make an appt with a specialist on my own. Seeing a specialist for an issue can take 6 months.. or longer.

How much did and do you pay...if you're inclined?

Family plan (not VA) for us went from $300 to $900.. with company insurance. Deductible went too high.. i use VA emergency room only now.

That's actually pretty good, at least in NJ. My buddy paid $1200 a month (before Obamacare) and wasn't great deductible. Seemed to be about the going rate before ACA.

Who did you have when it was $300 and what were the plan stats? Same company now at $900? Same plan? Deductible etc?

I have spoken with MANY people that had cheaper insurance but the coverage was actually way worse before their ACA plan kicked in for more money...but the coverage wasn't basically highway robbery like it was before.

Coverage changed.. had to get primary care physician approval.. but the deductible was so high .. it was cheaper for me to make emergency rm visit at VA hospital. For vets not in vicinity of VA hospitals. . Life sucks.

That's just the thing, there were OBVIOUS unintended consequences from the ACA, that those supporting it (not just Obama) ignored. The "you can your plan/ you can keep your doctor" promise showed an appalling amount of ignorance about the system they were "overhauling". That promise could not have been reasonably made/kept before the ACA, much less after. While it is not the doomsday disaster that opponents would have you believe, it has not solved any of the problems it was supposed to, meanwhile it has added excessive bureaucracy.
