What difference, at this point, does it make?

I maintain that if phones were that hazardous they would take them away at security or make you pack them.

Exactly, or, the terrorists could fill up most of a plane and all turn their phones and laptops on at once and bring the plane down.

It was "busted" for those that think that it can bring down a plane. It is actually an FCC rule, because all those people in all those planes would hit more cell towers than the same number of people on the ground, which would cause havoc to the cell systems on the ground.
