Diff777 if you're in it for points or comments then just comment on threads that are popular... Seems like you'll actually accrue points quicker doing that than you will making actual memes! lol

oh im sure! I was actually kind of surprised there was even message boards on these meme generators (I just hopped on this a couple days ago) but it actually seems to be a bigger component than the actual generator!

I have no idea why people have been making memes about us lately. There have been a lot more about Raydog than about me, but I don't really get it either way. It's not that funny to make memes about other users on imgflip.

Yes I'm new. But have much experience in the use of sarcasm and irony.. Lol.
But been an avid reader and user of site for private purposes for 2 yrs.
there are definitely many differences that contribute to how a. Person got points now vs then.. Tech changes ease of use, growing community can inhibit standing out, and other things like commenting as you mentioned.
To 1mm or guys I say this: consider how much this site is worth as s business if none of you existed on it.. In my business we call your type marketmakers, liquidity providers, or stalking horses. ThTs worth something to this site.

well it CERTAINLY behooves the owners of the site to create incentive for people to generate traffic here... The more traffic and bigger the list of email addresses to sell and the more you could potentially get for ad revenue... Nobody's running these things for s#!ts and giggles I'm sure! lol Heck, I just got into making these things a couple days ago and I'd be lying if I didn't say to myself, "Hmmm, how could I monetize sitting around whipping these up? (heck, the fatjew dude gets paid posting stuff and he doesn't even make them!)... Getting people to compete for high numbers of points IS more visually and (dare I say) "spiritually" (that's probably not the right word... G.O.D., I hope!) rewarding then using small numbers... That's one of the things about candy crush that made it SO popular... People LOVE watching that number climb sky high (rather than moving a smaller increment at a time)!

well, i DID say i just joined up a couple days ago in my comment, lol (actually just "discovered" making memes a couple days ago and have been having fun wasting time! I did just check comments though and you two have thousands of comments whereas he has 300 something I believe... I don't know what the hell was going on (or is even going on)... Just thought it might play into why people are more prone to mention you guys... People DO like to be acknowledged by those they look up to...

I think you might be right about the interaction making the difference. Raydog and I are more active on the site in terms of comments than Entertainer28 is. That might well have something to do with why people are making memes with our names in them.

Made a meme a couple days ago for fun and put it on FB and it's been making some pretty heavy rounds in the Boston area (it's the Quincy center crackhead one...). Figured, hey, eff it! I don't see one about Quincy center crackheads in your submitted memes. Those are the only ones other users on imgflip can see (might be different for pro users).

It's the ugly twins and it says, "the look you get in Quincy Center... When you got an extra square for Marky AND his homie..."... Tried to post it up on here but couldn't get that image to pop up (I kinda' suck at computers to be honest lol)... BTW, Quincy Center is a train stop in Boston FULL of junk bags bumming smokes... I unfortunately am from around here so it hits close to home (humorous as it may be! lol)...

Yeah you'll get used to the ins and outs of the site. It took me a while before I figured it out but it mostly just comes with practice.

Here the skinny on getting points.

First.. Was a total joke. Second I actually used the metaphor backwards.. Meaning I think it was in many ways easier to get to 1mm before than it is now. It was intended as a compliment. I imagine with 2 users it is easier to stand out.. But with 2bb users harder.
Not an attack or diminish meant if the contributions done by you guys. A testament to your ability to stand out in a crowd..

Hasn't it become obvious to you yet that Hyata-1 is an alt of someone that's been around for awhile...I suspected it yesterday, but those comments of his just proved it.

I think it's a compliment if my name is mentioned in a positive light, but there has only been one meme with my name in it. I understand that it could get old pretty quick, especially for Raydog. The big reason you and Raydog are mentioned a lot is because you and Raydog are the top imgflippers, points-wise, and anyone who's on top of anything are always going to be idolized or revered.

There are three imgflippers who have so many points, it'll take the number four a long time to get there on that level. Entertainer28 used to be on here a lot like Raydog and Socrates, but has chilled out quite a bit now. There are others who are climbing the leader boards quite quickly, like Invicta and myself. However, I get burned out rather quickly and have to slow down for a few weeks before I go gung-ho again, so it'll take me a while to get to 500,000 points.

Right now Invicta103 looks to me like the one who's the most likely to reach 1,000,000 next.
