I actually did that and it ended up in submission limbo again. I admit it was somewhat controversial, but I know I've seen memes that were far more outright offensive get through. Luck of the draw.

Yeah. I think of a lot of it is just timing - it depends on who's online at the time you first submit it. That's a frustrating feeling though.
