it is, but then again, thats my point. Saying merry christmas or happy hanukah addresses one religion but not all. And as much as its appreciated as a good gesture, whats wrong with "seasons greetings?" I mean, that addreses all things in general. There is no war on christmas. To all I say seasons greetings!! (happy holidays would be ok, but it only addresses religious stuff)

There is nothing wrong with a season's greetings, however we don't do this for spring, summer, or fall. It's only used to cover over someone else's revered holidays. I'm not Jewish but happy Hanukkah would not be an offensive greeting or goodbye to me, as long as a merry Christmas was a respectable response. Take it a step farther, it's July and you say happy 4th to someone, and they say happy summer in return. Are they really trying to say have a happy summer, or are they trying to marginalize your recognition of a holiday. (You may not be American but I think you get the point.) By the way, I am finding some of the back and forth in some of your posts interesting. :)

But if you live here, the fourth is the part of what made our liberties. Christmas is for christians 90% only. Then again, I couldnt tell if you agree with me or not lol

I don't really agree, but I don't take offense and rabidly disagree either. Every statement made to not have to include everyone. That would be so unbelievably tedious. Someone wishing you merriment for a day really should not have to include oh yeah and have happiness this other day and while your at it have a whatever you have at Ramadan. Its simply someone wishing you well. As I said wishing me a happy Hanukah would certainly not offend me. Maybe its more a matter of priorities, there are far worse injustices in the world today than being wished "good days".

But its not just saying it. Its the fact that its EVERYWHERE you go. Its NOT a christian country and it was NOT founded by all christians. Its not a country founded on christian principles either and neither is christmas anyway. U really think people would be ok with telling everybody HAPPY SATAN DAY! or HAPPY F**K YOUR GOD day? Of course not. Same concepts though.

Not at all the same concepts, as those are deliberate statements to elicit ill-will rather than good-will. The country was founded very much on Christian values and principles no matter what the athiests would have you believe. Separation of church and state stops at the founding of a national religion but has been bastardized by the courts to fit the narrative of what they believe to be the populist will at the time. Our justice system was as well based on Christian principles.

Not sure bout country being founded on christian value. But i do have the right to celebrate "hail satan day" and "f**k religion day" and like many christians, i can mean it as a good will even though they may or may not celebrate it too. With all due respect, please fact check the country being founded on christian values. Unless you mean directly the constitution which would only qualify a little bit since it was based on the magna carta and that and christianity has basis on the torah a JEWISH thing. I respect you and your opinion but this is my side.

I should have said Judeo-Christian values in fact I thought about it a few minutes after sending and I knew I would get called out on it:) Judeo-Christian "values" do not have to mean religious, just the sense of right and wrong contained within. Its a very careful dicing of words, but the laws of civilization essentially go back to Moses. The founding fathers did intend for god to be a part of the country, evidenced by everywhere the term was used. What they did not want was to dictate WHAT god. You can certainly celebrate those days if you choose, it is your right to celebrate your god in your way as laid out by the constitution and the state cannot make you change. You also need to be willing to live with the consequences of your convictions as has been done throughout the centuries by Christians, Jews and Muslims alike. The over sensitivity to religion has reached the absurd when you consider less than 100 years ago extermination was ordered and the millions of lives lost. As for your example of "f**k religion day" I would submit that there would be no other reason to have such other than to elicit a negative response. I'm sure you chose that example as an absurdity for an illustration, but something that over the top diminished a good argument by adding unreason into what is otherwise reason.

Yah. Glad you caught that mistake. I know "f**k religion day" was over the top, but ppl still have the rite to celebrate it. Some people even say "merry christmas" but their way of christianity includes intolerance for people different than them and other pathetic "values" "merry christmas" is not always said as a good greeting, society just makes it sound suger coated. I know my example kind of destroyed part of my evidence, but i strongly stand behind what i beleive. Like I said, I respect your veiws, but put yourself in somebody elses shoes. Imagine a country where the majority of people did in fact worship satan and during part of the year, its an accepted custom to say "happy HAIL SATAN day" or "happy hanukah" with a mostly jewish nation where christians are the minority and often bullied for a long time. Hanukah is not even a major jewish holiday kind of like christmas involves a lot of pagan stuff now. Think about it.

There will always be a measure of intolerance and you will never regulate it. Just as you can find ignorance in Christianity you can find it in other religions as well. It probably feels more prevalent to you as there are so many more Christians here, thus the opportunity for ignorance and a misunderstanding of their own religion is greater. Again, there are way more constructive things to be offended by other than merry Christmas or happy Hanukah. Keep in mind, you live in a country where you can speak your mind like this. If you took such a stand against Islam in this way, in many Muslim countries you would be put to death. If I took a side like I have in an open discussion in the Soviet block countries of the 80s, I could have gone on a list as an enemy of the state. In short enjoy the freedom you have to say hail satan if that is your choice, but I will enjoy my freedom not to acknowledge it if that is my choice. We are lucky you and I to have these freedoms.
