I don't think there's anything wrong with using CGI for films, but it seems wrong to brag that you aren't and make it a selling point that you're not using them, if you actually are using them.

I don't know that much about the production, to be honest. Pretty much all I've seen are the trailers and the Vanity Fair interview with J.J. Abrams. Plus now your memes! :)

All the ships they've shown so far are cgi. They show a full scale burning TIE out in the desert at one point though I believe. But all the flying starfighters and the Falcon are cgi. They have a real Falcon set though like the OT. But they aren't using physical models for space so far. From what I've seen in the trailers. And Andy Serkis is mocapped for the role of Snoke(Emperor 2.0). There's still plenty of cgi. lol :)

That would be awesome. To have a starfighter/freighter that's intentionally meant to look like an old 70's Winnebago. It kind of makes you wonder why Chevy/Ford don't make new cars with the old styled bodies. They'd make a killing on a Camaro that looks like a 69' model but is actually from 2015. :)

Yea, that's true, they kinda look like it now, the automakers has to build them to certain standards, especially today, they're so.anal that is probably as close as they can get!

It could also be a licensing issue with the body style. Someone who doesn't work with them any longer may hold rights or something. I wish they'd make retro cars like they did with a bunch of 70's toys like Mego. Repro them cars Chevy/Ford! lol :)

Yea, it's not too shity but the thing about AirBus is that there is 4 or more countries that it's gets financial help from, so politics is so often I'm the mix, and controls it in many ways. Would you trust a politician to build an airplane? It's also unfair competition with Boeing because it's not being feed money by these Governments so it doesn't go bankrupt! Boeing is an actual Company, AirBus says they are, but they're more of a Government controlled entity than anything else.

I don't trust politicians for anything. lol And that sucks for Boeing. But I'm sure the military/government uses them to build engines for them too right? :)

Boeing is so big and they build and own so much, they're not going anywhere. Now, they have so many divisions that it's possible for a few of them to fail but not all of them.
