Well not sure about the ewoks...but it was the only star wars my mom would watch. Jar jar was like the half retarded annoying little brother of a friend that always hafd to be there. Ha ha.

I gotta keep the faith. I didnt like them because i dont know. Sounds logical right. Or maybe was trying to recapture my youth and innocense from seeing the first ones in theatre growing up. It didnt work. And yeah Anni wasnt cool.

lol I still love the prequels for the story though. Just like I love the OT. The story. Well, and all the space combat. The new film/films have already ruined the story by picking and choosing what it wanted from the EU.

Like the super weapon in Force Awakens. It's a straight ripoff of the Sun Crusher from the Jedi Academy trilogy(novels), that Kyp Durron(a big part of what Kylo Ren is ripping off) pilots as he struggles with the dark side. The whole First Order idea is a ripoff of the Legacy story line which happened 137 ABY. lol Rey is a ripoff of Jaina Solo and Tenal Ka from the Thrawn Trilogy and New Jedi Order series. Lame. I can keep pointing out what they're ripping off if you want?

The new trilogy is completely unoriginal, a toy advert, and just more of Jar Jar Abram's style of directing. Which is shaky camera+lens flares+lame liberal agendas. lol The film will suck and you're going to hate how ridiculously lame it is. I guarantee it.. :)

Ha ha. Yeah i guess its lightning in a bottle. Sorry i havnt read anything you are referencing. I was always a wait for the movie kind of guy. I always afraid the books ruined the movie for me. Ive got a copy of catcher in the rhy on my nite stand....still waiting for the movie. Hah .

You don't know what you're missing by not reading the novels from the EU. If you had the chance to and also the comics like Dark Empire(also being ripped off for Force Awakens) you'd probably enjoy them.

To me if a film is good it doesn't matter if you know the ending. The first time I saw Fight Club, I had caught only the last 20 minutes of it. But when I went back to watch the film from the start, I was still thoroughly entertained. Despite knowing the ending. If Force Awakens(makes me yawn everytime I say/think that title) is as good as the hype, it wouldn't matter if you knew the ending before hand. But it's crap. And obviously so from the trailers alone.

I mean, aren't you wondering why the First Order(Empire) is still using the flat winged TIE/LNs(original TIE models)? Don't you remember in ANH Vader's TIE Advanced? And in ROTJ when they made the Interceptors(based off the Advanced)? That's a HUGE continuity error FROM THE FILMS ALONE and it's an obvious example of how JJ/Disney is just emulating the OT and filling in the gaps with cherry picked EU ideas. I can go on and on about how f-ed the Disney fan fics are. lol :)

Im trying not to overthink it. Movies are about the suspension of disbelief. Hundreds of movies be it biographys, non fiction fact based accounts, or sci-phi and fantasy are gonna have their flaws. Youre taking a series written over 30 yrs and theres gonna be an ongoing evolution of the story as it passes through generations of individuals tasked with the responsability of giving it life in written word and film. Everyone is gonna have their own iterpretation and may not be favored by all but the fact remains is we are still fans and loyalty to the franchise is paramount and like it or not we have to choose to either enjoy it for what it is or try and bring it down to a level of scrutiny and take away the fantasy that it is. Im gonna try and enjoy it and hope that 13 yr old me can get some of that same hope and insperation for the 40 yr old me. Good chat tho. Upvotes all around

But I like all six films, and all the EU up till the Disney purchase. So I don't think you're right in your assumptions. Anyone who's into SW(first 6 films) AND the EU(before the Disney fan fics), will not enjoy the new films in the slightest. Their crap before they even get out of the gates. :)

I don't think Jar Jar Binks was as horrible as everybody says. The way he spoke was annoying, but I think people's reaction was way over the top.

I think she's still hot. She had a bad time with drugs and probably got tired of always being Leia. I don't have anything against her or Mark Hamill. Harrison Ford only became kind of annoying once I heard about him wanting Han to die and seeing him in Anchorman 2. lol And even though the OT cast is in TFA I don't like it. They messed up by not doing the EU storyline. I'm only going to watch it to point out what's wrong with it. :)
