Elohim was the name of the Canaanite Pantheon and the only thing questionable is whether this was just the seventy sons of El. El to these Canaanites was the same as Zeus to the Greeks, Odin to the Norse and Ra to the Egyptians. The Israeli are Canaanite and not a separate tribe.
From here it goes on to describe man being created from mud just like the Sumerian original. Next the creation of Eve from a rib and this Sumerian tale is perverted. (See S. N. Kramer; "History Begins in Sumer"). The tale is actually about how the God Enki ate a few plants and how the mother Goddess made some of his organs fail. When she was later convinced to heal Enki she created deities to heal the organs she had cursed. The deity to create his withering ribs was Nintil which means "She Who Makes Live" in Sumerian as well as Lady of the Rib. When the tale was borrowed, Eve means She who makes live but the Canaanites made her lady of the rib in an entirely different fashion. From here on Eve was tempted at the Tree of Life, (The erect male P**is). This is from the Gilgamesh epic and relates how innocent Enkidu was tempted and after losing his innocence the wild animals forsook him. There are a lot more examples of literary borrowings such as the enormous ages but I want to make this as short as possible. The ten patriarchs before Abraham also matches the ten Sumerian antediluvian Kings. The next major hypothesis in Genesis is the tale of Noah, also from a Sumerian original retold in the Gilgamesh epic. Christians say there are enough differences that it was not a borrowing. Christians also say 1QIsa is identical to Isaiah in the Bible, yet the Babylonian rendition of the Sumerian flood epic is far closer to being identical.
The next Canaanite hero is Abraham who supposedly lived about 2000 BCE, He pimped his sister/wife off to Abimelech, King of Gerar. Gerar was a Palestinian city, founded about 1200 BCE and Gerar had a King with that name about 850 BCE. We also have the destruction by a meteor of the cities Sodom and Gomorrah. the Canaanites saw any phenomenon such as a meteor landing as the punishment from a God. Here the tale was embellished after the event. We then have a common Canaanite motif; the lad who left Canaan and made it big in Egypt. The novella in the Bible is not the only one from Canaan.
