Is this meme arguing against belief in God, or against people who claim to believe in God yet remain self-absorbed? Or both?

I would say it's aimed at those who are thankful to God for the most mundane and superficial of things yet remain oblivious to the fact the God appears impotent in regards to the sufferings of humanity.

Poignant. But then they say it's all part of the "plan" -- in the Book of Revelation, god has pre-determined the number of martyrs before he sends his son back. And that's after he's arranged the persecution of his son's "bride", the Church. What father would allow (plan?) the persecution of his son's bride? Oh, it's so she will be "radiant and pure" I get it ... middle eastern extremists seem to have a stranglehold on the rest of the world.

God is not morally obliged to ease the suffering of his enemies.

Well if God created us it absolutely is his fault, even more so if he is all knowing. Also the free will argument is total bs. A baby rapist has free will to be evil yet what of a baby's free will not to raped and killed? Also if God is all powerful and continues to allow the free will of the baby to be violated at the behest of the rapist than he is also evil.

Well, the reason he created us with free will is because he didn't want robots built to obey him because they had too. In the end, it won't really matter.
