Yes, on their own accord. By choice. Not by force of government. See the difference?

1) Define fairly. How should "the rich" spread their wealth? 2) define "the rich". 3) The bible says no such thing. When the pharisees tried to get Jesus to speak out against the Romans, he basically said decide for yourselves what is right and wrong. 5) By your logic, Nazi's were obeying God when they perpetrated the Holocaust. Was slavery obeying God? Was the genocide of the Indians? The starvation of the Ukranians? The colonialsim of the Europeans? The Spanish Inquisition? All nice and legal.

1) Handing out money to people doesn't fix poverty. If everybody is given enough to be happy, then fewer people work and there is less money to go around. It's your basic death spiral. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.
2) So anybody who has enough money to eat at a restaurant is rich? Anybody who has enough money to buy a computer is rich? Who decides what you need and don't need? If it's the government, then clearly they NEED giant compensation packages, insulation from the laws they write, and huge houses. Clearly you and I don't need a pickup truck or a boat, or red meat.
3) Romans 13 is a specific set of advice to a specific community of early Christians. It is NOT a blanket endorsement of the moral judgement of government. In Mark 12:17 Jesus refuses to say whether they should pay taxes to Rome, rather saying that they should decide for themselves what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God.
4) Yep.
5) Neither the meme nor the discussion say anything about disobeying the tax laws. I am talking about CHANGING THE LAWS. Also, if you believe that the Bible says that people should blindly obey the law, then there is no such thing as an extreme case. Obeying the law is much different than deciding if the law is just.

Well, to boil it down, my argument is this:
1) Yes, people have a responsibility to help others, whether it is the poor, the sick, etc. Charity is a sacred duty of all Christians.
2) By using government / laws to FORCE people to give to the poor, you take away their freedom to CHOOSE to do the right thing.
3) When you give the government the power to decide who gets what, you take away some of the peoples' freedom, you handicap innovation, and you push out private charities.
