Some people just don't understand why the flag is being removed

you didn't get the point of my meme and i don't think the others that viewed it and disliked it did either, which is a pity. it is symbolic of the desire of the citizens' to end racism. that doesn't mean racism will go away. bigotry will always exist because humans are foolish creatures that can't see past their noses, however, collectively the general desire in the country is to end racism so removing that silly flag is symbolic, nothing more really. but the fact it still flew for 150 years only showed the south's stubborn reluctance to accept history and the fact that they were not able to secede, that they failed horribly, and that they lost their property during the process. those that fly it today are usually in the bigot category, some are just ignorant to history, but the others know full well the variety of meaning that flag holds and so they fly it to show their stubbornness.

No I get your meaning perfectly. Just take it a bit farther & apply what you said to other flags & symbols. Someone is always offended at something. Would you pull down the US flag if Native Americans started calling it a symbol of genocide & oppression? If you are going to set standards to symbols, apply them across the board.
