The confederate flag is also often called the rebel flag, because the confederacy was made up of rebels, not just slave owners and racists. The flag is a symbol of not just hate, but rebellion against a governement they didnt agree with. One kid goes on a shooting spree and NOW people want to get offended by a f**king flag? The only difference is (and I know I'll get a lot of hate for it) that burning the American flag shows your disrespect for the system. The confederate flag was used by the KKK and a lot of other racial groups that lead to many atrocities that scar the american image to this day. We are fine with private groups flying the flag, but government offices should not fly a flag that represents a time of great racism. Anyone who says otherwise does support the atrocities of that era that should never be repeated again

Babies are bombed daily by planes that have the American flag on it, flown and controlled by people in uniforms with the American flag on them. Where does it end? The flag isn't the issue, people are.

I never said it was ok, I stated that burning the american flag shows disdain for all of the United States, but the Confederate Flag itself shows disdain against mainly 1 specific group of people (there are other minorities that are disdained)

So you can burn the american flag and show disdain for all of america but cant fly a rebel flag for the same exact thing? Cuz some people dont like it? The conf. flag wasnt created for racists, it was adopted by rebels

There will always be people that will hate Americans...We'll just have to live with that. The fact that there is a flag that disdains an entire group of people, and is flying at a government building, shows of most disrespect to that minority, despite it being the government's job to unite and liberate the people

Just wondering how a historical figure such as Abraham Lincoln would stack up against 21st century morality & political correctness? He made some horrific statements against African Americans in his 1858 debate with Stephen Douglas. I mean it it's something you would think would be said by the KKK. Look it up.

You raise a good point, and it is fair to say that times were different, and saying such things were normal. Is that a good thing? No...but in our time and age, we know that is wrong because its demeaning.
