School has two purposes: 1) to offer information for one's inspection and 2) to train kids how to follow directions. Lately it's become more about teaching kids to follow directions that it has been giving them information, and they certainly don't like it when you inspect or question the information provided.
Incidentally, the higher one's grade is, the better they are at following orders, and vice versa. There are many very intelligent men and women who did not do well in school. I pitty those who think good grades are a credential...
