That WAS the medic!

From observing the back round, the battlefield and the soldiers are out in the open, usually a combat medic (From my knowledge) would drag the injured patient out into cover before administering aid depending on the casualty.
I'm not hating on that green soldier with glue though, I'm just saying he could get head shot by administering surgery out in the open . . .
