I've tried understanding this for some years now, and what more commonly comes up is that people love the "fantasy" of it.
A great portion are against actually being eaten or watching someone or something being eaten, but the idea of it is to them what tits and ass are to men, a kink.
But it's sooo varying that this statement is JUST the collected consensus from the little group whom I asked about.
