Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving in which stores lower prices on pretty much all items. This results in GIANT crowds of people shopping. Cha-ching :)

And referred to as Black Friday because for some companies the sales revenues got them out of the red /loss and into the black /profit for the year.

That fact that you don't know shows how lucky you are to not have black friday.
