Dunno, but let me ask you this. I have never seen an incident where a person defended themselves with a gun. It may just be the press not thinking it's juicy enough, but the one time I did see something like it, it was when a girl was shot by an idiot who didn't know how to use his gun. Show me some incidents where people have defended themselves with their guns from psychopaths. Plus in the UK no one can own a gun except farmers who have worked the land for a certain number of generations and the military. They have had one gun homicide for every 30 in the USA. In 2010 there were 8,775 gun homicides. In the UK there were 58. If you imagine the UK has the same population as the USA, that still only amounts to 290.
