I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion on the internets, but it's one I developed during decades of flying:
A flight crew is a team. A pilot with weak skills degrades the performance of the team.
Also, either pilot can manipulate the flight controls; transfer of flight controls between pilots is routine. You wanna take a sip of your coffee? You transfer controls to the other pilot.
Bonus round: stay away from thunderstorms. I've been in aircraft which were damaged by flying too close to thunderstorms. Management chewed our asses and we leveled up a few IQ points.
Double bonus round: once upon a time, while flying low under the clouds in Alabama, I happened to see a swirley cloud off the right wing. Stay away from those things too.
