That is just not true. It is way more complicated. The Republican conservative movement did not become popular until the 80s. I'm not sure what your definition of "progressive" is. I suggest you watch a few videos about Ronald Regan and the conservative movement.

Are you still holding on to the "switched" myth? It is easily disproven with a simple timeline. Republicans did not become dominant in the South until the 2000s. Don't be afraid of history. Knowledge is power. If you know history, people can't lie to you. Also, don't trust the people who lie to you. They are liars.

I don't need a source. I was there. Make a time line of govenors from different Southers states. Between 1980-2000 you can see more and more were Republican. You could use AI or do it the slow way. Once you do it, and maybe watch a video or two about Regean, and Jessie Helms, you will realize I'm right and you are being lied to. Always question authority. Never take anyone's word, especially if they are in power.
