No no, I checked out a lot about it at the time cos I was still Liberal (in the Liberal sense, not "Progressive" like in the BLM and DEI sense).
Native American sports fans made their own personal polls across the country, and found a majority of their own found the same pride in the name and logo.
Students were another thing, as they're cultishly isolated from their surroundings and solely live in the world of concepts and themes built by their revolutionary professors who often lead their student protests in the background (like Paris atm).
Native American movements were fighting each other on the issue, and as it is in Social Justice - the minority of a minority wins (one person's struggle is everybody's struggle - called "equity"), but sports fans are who I'll return to for the actual meaningful and honest results, not idealists with second agendas.
Like I was never into sports when I wasn't playing myself, but my twin brother and some of my friends are. If I'm confused about something cultural in that regard, I'll ask them.
