In tv shows like The Big Bang Theory, it shows the stereotype that those who like anime and Marvel movies are awkward nerdy men who are usually incels but in real life back in highschool, I knew a lot of girls who liked anime and Marvel movies and they were not ugly girls and even cute but I sure wasn't gonna get a date with them because I went to a catholic school and of course all girls in catholic school are traditional catholic prudes who don't even want to flirt with boys. I also thought it was hypocritical of them because anime with violence and sexualized female characters is by definition very against the catholic church.
