Because then nobody will support Christianity

As a christian, we should be helping people come to Jesus by being good neighbors and being like him, not by forcing them to replace their own cultures with white American Christianity.

ofc not, but conservative "christians" want to spread christianity in the US, which is good except their version of christianity is influenced too much by their politics, which aren't based on christian values

What if neither had authority over the other? What if they were… separate? 🤯

then national policy would be put into the hands of politicians who care more about themselves than the people they're leading

perhaps the country shouldn't be run by a church (especially because there are multiple different denominations that would need to have equal authority), but to run for office you should have to be ordained in a mainline church denomination

And there’s also the problem of the whole reason the us exists is because people wanted religious freedom, and we vowed to preserve that in the constitution…

I am a Christian. I’m just not one of the Christians who believes that we are supposed to force other people to believe in Jesus, we are supposed to invite them in the faith and be good examples of Christ. He did not usurp, he did not control, he instead built relationships with the sinners and murderers like Saul. We should do the same, and we destroy that if we control the country.
