This place used to be so much more entertaining but now it's all just either nothingburger drama that people keep looping back into day after day or shitposts that aren't really that funny or original
It's lost the sense of community that it once had, and even if old MSmg was a little toxic
I can't say everyone used to be friends but most people were at least to some degree cordial
I have so much love for this place still but it isn't what it used to be, we traded a sense of authenticity for having more tolerance
And we still have the issues that we did in the semi OG days of MSmg. We don't have quite as much blatant pedophilia but we do have a lot of people are very often suspect of grooming or faking their death.
Moderation isn't that good either, the general attitude towards moderation has significantly shifted. Moderation used to just be some task we did, although to keep things running, it was fun to compete with other moderators to see who was the "best" at something. Honestly moderation these days is a little too strict, I feel like we've become intolerant of accountability. Instead of being able to address our issues the way we used to, we just kind of brush them under the rug.
