It's ironic that the guy himself was a socialist as well though there may have been some missing contexts seeing this would contradicts the issues he had with Communism. What can be said, he definitely would not be in favor of what the left are aligning themselves, especially with the CCP.
If we look at the real history of socialism, Orwell may have actually have been a Henri de Saint Simon socialist which were some good ideas until people like Marx, Engels, etc. plagiarized and ripped off Simon.
