It's not the orphans trying to steal your money, it's the cashier. I'm suspicious about those grocery store cashiers and the self-checkout terminals that entice you into spending a little more and claiming it's going to some charity. How do I know they're not just keeping that extra cash for themselves?
If I want to give money to a charity, I'll visit the charity website, or call the charity, or donate in person if I can do so.
