Save the people & tank the country or save the country & impoverish your citizenry

My gut says to raise rates to normalize pricing & reduce inflation But if I do that with $40+ Trillion in debt the interest alone would bankrupt the U.S.. We eventually lose reserve currency status & inflation skyrockets anyway.
