A prime example of a book I'm interested in vs a Book I was never interested in was Swallowing Stones vs Fahrenheit 451. Swallowing Stones by Joyce McDonald is currently my favorite Book ever and it really opened up a passion for reading I've never felt before in my entire life. On contrast, F451 nearly caused me to fail English 1 last year due to missed days and boredom.
