BREAKING: Killer Karmelo Anthony DENIED a new trial.
Judge Michael Chitty just shut down the convicted stabber’s last-ditch attempt to walk after prosecutors dropped the hammer with evidence the original jury never saw.
Defense lawyers cried racism and a “secret agreement.” The judge didn’t buy it.
Prosecutor Bill Wirskye laid it out:
• School records going back to age 6–7 in Baton Rouge. By age 10 he was already on a behavioral plan at the LSU Psych Department.
• Texts where Anthony used racist slurs, admitted assaulting a girl, and bragged about shooting up a school.
• Messages about “assault” rifles and weapons.
• His own ex reported him stalking her the morning of the murder.
• The sickest part: texts where he said he was “on the verge” and fantasized about stabbing someone… then licking the blood off the blade.
This wasn’t a one-time “self-defense” moment. It was a pattern.
Austin Metcalf’s family gets to keep the 35-year sentence.
The killer does not get a do-over.
Justice upheld.
