There was a time in history when the country were expanding and needed the population to develop the areas being moved into and the immigrants came to farm the land and become successful. That is the meaning of that poem. Then hundreds of years later, after all that effort and time helped develop a great nation and make it a strong one, the ideology of leftism and communism came along to destroy it and use those words against the country. A certain political party used both to flood the now developed nation with the useless eaters of the world and the unvetted criminals (and unvaccinated ones too) at a time all while lying to our faces they weren't doing it. Trouble is, like Galileo, we know what we saw and we don't believe the cult of control anymore. Well ... most of us normal people don't. There are still lying leftists and naive youth out there that believe the opposite and the cult of control is still trying to control them and convince them of their lies.
