Honestly i had a nice idea for a sci-fi book I call it Hellfire, basically earth expanded across the stars and due to the distance of the planets and being far from earth different factions sprout up and eventually an all out war breaks out (essentially ww2 but in space)

Mine surrounds an alien faction cult type thing that sends a war machine out to a planet with intelligent life (earth), and a guy with basically super iq has to work with the government to take the war machine down (this is the first of the trilogy)

Question however, is the war machine going to be a super colossal engine designed for pure war or just a tiny dude in a shielded bomb suit

Kind of like a giant humanoid (10ft). This faction is more advanced than us, but they have less resources, as they are a cultist organization, outlawed by the mass of the population. So they send what they have to convey their beliefs, but it’s not enough to remake pacific rim. They are armed to the TEETH with weapons like lasers though
