These are the server rules for the new Discord server I am working on. If you have any questions, suggestions, or clarifications, let me know, but going forward these will be the rules. The server is getting much closer to completion. I am just going over permissions/roles still to make sure everything runs smoothly when I get mods, and that everyone has proper access to the spaces they will be using.

1. Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech and Discrimination

We protect our community's diverse intersections. Any harassment, slurs, or degradation based on neurodivergence, mental health status, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, race, or belief system will not be tolerated.

2. Attack the Idea, Not the Person

Deep philosophical and scientific debates are highly encouraged. However, dissent must remain academic and respectful. Challenge a premise using logic, data, or philosophical frameworks. Do not, use ad hominem attacks, insults, or condescension against another member.

3. Respect Personal Stories and Vulnerability

This is a safe space for personal sharing. When members share their lived experiences or mental health journeys, treat them with empathy and strict confidentiality. Do not screenshot, share, or gossip about personal stories outside their designated channels.

4. The Paradox of Tolerance

To maintain an open and accepting environment, we do not tolerate intolerance. Arguments or philosophies that inherently deny the rights, dignity, or existence of marginalized groups will be removed.

5. Use Content Warnings (CW) & Spoiler Tags

Discussions about heavy scientific topics or mental health experiences can trigger overstimulation or distress. Use the ||spoiler|| format or content warnings for sensitive topics (e.g., trauma, self-harm concepts, clinical distress) so members can opt-in to the conversation.

6. Mind the Overstimulation & Chaos

Our brains work differently, and text channels can quickly become overwhelming. Keep conversations on-topic according to the channel descriptions. Avoid spamming walls of text or rapid-fire messages in general chat; give others space to read and process.

7. No Diagnosing or Unsolicited Medical Advice

While we discuss psychology, neuroscience, and mental health deeply, no one here is acting as your medical professional. Sharing personal coping strategies or scientific studies is fine, but do not diagnose other members or tell them what medications/treatments they should or should not use.

8. Respect Identity, Pronouns, and Names

Always respect a member's stated name, pronouns, and identity markers. Intentional misgendering or mocking of neo-pronouns is considered a form of harassment.

9. Good Faith Engagement

Assume good faith first. Because communication styles differ wildly across neurodivergent individuals, text can sometimes read as blunt or intense. If a misunderstanding happens, ask for clarification calmly before assuming malice.

10. Mod Discretion and Safety

The moderation team is here to keep this space safe and intellectually stimulating. If a discussion becomes circular, hostile, or overly stressful to the general room, moderators may ask to pause the topic or move it to a specific sub-channel. Follow staff directions immediately.

Yes. I will send out public invites once I"m done. I just started my substitute teaching job again, so it's going to be a little bit longer than I initially thought, but I will get it finished soon. It is for all free-thinking individuals who promote the values of kindness of acceptance. :)
