...I suppose it depends on whether the Christian does what he should be doing and reads the Bible regularly.
I read my Bible marginally less than I should, but even with that limited knowledge, I find that most (not all) atheists know little enough of the Bible that they think they know much, creating the effect of the atheist occasionally looking really bad. So, rule of thumb, if you see a person claiming Christianity who knows the Bible less than atheists, chances are, they probably still believe in a works-based salvation or something, which would mean that their chances of actually being saved are marginally lower.
