As for all of their hundreds of friends and acquaintances over the years: the simple act of knowing someone who later turns out to be a sex offender is not a crime in-and-of-itself. If that were the case, then the vast majority of the U.S. population would be in prison right now. By your logic: everyone who’s ever known Eric Swalwell should be in prison, just like every who’s ever known Graham Platner should be in prison.
