The original copyright is 1805, but you can buy modern paperback editions for about $30. Then you'll learn that about 10% of the Continental Army was made up of free black men. How about that. There's a lot more than that of course, the original was in 3 volumes and it's a highly regarded history of the US, written by a woman who was already a famous author and was in the middle of the whole thing. I'm betting $500 you can't read anyway.
