Nice theory, but a few holes. Assuming the voice in the Goner Maker is Gaster (and I do believe it is him), the one that interrupts the sequence is someone else. Different style of talking, code ID, not all caps, etc. That doesn’t throw out the theory, it just would mean that Gaster decided to repurpose the Vessel as the Knight. However, we don’t know if the Vessel was supposed to be like Kris. I don’t think it is, as we give it personality traits. And it wouldn’t make sense if we were making a vessel of a human to replace Kris if Kris was already adopted by the Dreemurrs and had history with the Holidays. It doesn’t make sense for it to have those relationships, it was just created. I mean, Gaster could pull some Device strings and give it fake memories, ig, but what would be the point? Not to mention, using the logic of Device Theory (which has not been disproved by the last 3 chapters, in fact I would say it’s been further proven), Gaster had no hand in making the world of Deltarune, only the Device that connects our reality. I don’t think Gaster has the power to replace a character with a different character like that. If we got to use the Vessel from the beginning, I have a feeling that Kris would still be in town. Where that would put the Vessel, I don’t know.
Whoever the Knight is, they seem to be kidnapping specific people for a reason. I don’t think the Knight (working with Kris) was trying to kidnap Toriel (at the time). The Knight had all the time in the world to grab Tori like how they grabbed Undyne. The target in Ch 3 was Undyne all along. There’s no other explanation for all the prep work that Kris did to ensure that Undyne would show up. The Evil Ahh Fountain Openers might need Tori as well, which is why the Knight made the fountain in the church when Choir Practice was supposed to be happening. What the ulterior motive is for all the kidnappings, we don’t know, but I don’t think it’s simply that the Knight wants a family.
