Some bad news for Stars Comic fans:
I was on Matthew's Patreon a while back, and there was a post talking about what things in his career he's prioritizing, with Stars Comic being labeled as "Vibes based". To quote what he said in the post:
"I just make episodes when I'm having fun with it. It's not very clear how it should be balanced against Swords. Bean is the only Makeship plushie that didn't get funded but there were some other factors going on."
Judging by how the series hasn't continued since May 16th, with the previous episode being posted back in March 11th, I don't think the series is gonna get continued anytime soon. I have a feeling that Bean's plushie failing on Makeship was a very big tipping point for it.
Speaking of Bean's plushie, there was a small thing I had to hide at the time when I shared the news about it, or else it would've lead to spoilers for the series: if the plushie had reached 100% funding, the Theseus would've been repaired and the crew's journey would've continued as normal without them losing power and being stranded (thus spoiling the part where the space pirates destroy the ship). But since the plushie wasn't funded, that didn't happen.
Another thing I'm assuming is causing Stars' downfall is how little it's advertised across Matthew's social media. You wouldn't know about this series unless you dig deep into his Patreon or visit his Webtoon page.
And comparing the series to Swords with the inconsistent posting aside, I think Stars has it worse with all the writing issues, plot holes, etc., which is ironic since it has way less plot and characters. Maybe Matthew is even less sure of where to take THAT series if he's not that interested in continuing it.
Once again, these kind of comments are all entirely my opinion, and it's okay if you disagree with my takes.
