Smoke detectors were designed to save lives, and in some instances they have done just that. But most of the time, they let you know you've burned whatever you were cooking on the stove.
Lol, that was me today. I pulled the bacon pan out of the oven too fast and some grease spilled into the oven. Of course it went off before I could get to it...😆
