You make a great point. The main plot thread in "Toy Story 5" is that Bonnie is ignoring the toys because of her LilyPad. The toys conplain that they are no longet getting any respect, but what have they done to earn Bonnie's respect? Nothing. Nada. Zip.
The toys are capable of talking and moving around and having their own adventures without human assistance, yet the nanosecond a human comes into view, they become silent statues. All the toys have to do is to cone to life in front of Bonnie and they'll earn her respect. She'll then like them more than her LilyPad.
In "The Amazing Spider-Man" Aunt May says "Secrets have a cost", and boy, is she right. For the toys in "Toy Story 5", the cost of keeping their true talents secret from all of humanity is that all of humanity ignores them in favor of electronic devices. The problem in "Toy Story 5" is too easy to solve, as far as I can tell. So I am not eager to see "Toy Story 5" at all.
