Leave it to a Longhorn to deny domestication. My Dad raised purebred Longhorns (in Colorado!). They could clear a 6 foot fence at will, were naturally resistant to most diseases, brutal to coyotes and uncautious dogs. It didn't take me long to be able to project a radius- when working them in a coral they were typically well behaved, but simply turning a head to look at something would get you cold-cocked like being hit with a baseball bat.
