Mercy Otis Warren was one of the first to write a comprehensive history of the American Revolution through the ratification of the Constitution. Her brother James Otis was beaten nearly to death and suffered massive brain injuries for expressing his opinions supporting a new nation. He coined the phrase "Taxation without Representation is Tyranny."; Most modern readers would need a dictionary to understand her superior intellect in the three volume set she wrote. 21st Century "revolutionaries" probably wouldn't admit their revolution is so ignorantly informed and inferior in every aspect, and they would be shocked that she had 5 children too. She wrote how women played a huge role in the Revolution, and 10% of the soldiers who served were black men. Much of her history is a first person account of events leading up to and through the Revolution
