After the Civil War, the African country of Liberia was founded to give freed slaves a home in Africa. Every former slave was given the opportunity to move there. My parents lineage on my father side what’s from the north, never owned slaves and supported the union effort to end slavery. My mother‘s lineage came to this country after slavery was abolished. I owe nobody anything.
