hydras and dragons are related but not the same. they are both draconids, however that is the extent of their similarities. hydras, like the one showcased here, have multiple heads that double and regrow when chopped off, while dragons only have one head, except in the case of polycephaly, which many other animals get. neither a hydra nor a dragon would die due to choking on a princess’s crown, as most species do not eat valuables, but instead lodge them in their soft underbellies for protection or hoard them to raise social status and increase the likelihood of finding a mate. it is widely believed that dragons and hydras went extinct due to over hunting, though it it unknown where most oriental dragons went, as they were worshipped instead of feared. a hydra wouldn’t even die if a crown was lodged in its throat as it has multiple airways and, even if one head died, the remaining heads would stay alive.
