That's actually part of the point I'm trying to make. I agree, it's universal. But I think it's specifically important in queer spaces where many of us have been discouraged to live our lives. I wanted to encourage people to go beyond that belief that they don't deserve to enjoy their lives just because they were born a certain identity or sexuality. That's what I wanted to do.

Also, you could argue that a lot of things aren't gay, for instance I recall you posting an announcement about going to a jazz bar. Is that queer? No. Is it something that I personally think belongs here because I see this stream as a safe place for everyone with a large focus on queerness? Yes, absolutely. Same with profile memes that include pronouns as the only (maybe) queer aspect.

I'm not trying to change your decision, but this is the way I see it.

You're not alone with this. I'm white and European, so I don't have this kind of discrimination, but I'm also autistic with ADHD. I haven't only been discriminated against as a trans woman. But why is the way we've been discriminated against important in this conversation?

Good point. But how does this affect the meme on the stream? Why would you allow it as an announcement (wouldn't have fit as well) but not as a meme? What's the problem here? You said it yourself, it's just as universal to you as it is to me. And don't you think that people on here could use some encouragement? Most queer people have to deal with depression in some way. That's why I wanted to make this meme: it's important to me to at least try and help people. In my opinion, this is the perfect stream for this.
Our community is in danger. And then we also have internalized queerphobia that doesn't make it possible to live life to the full extent. I really don't see the issue here. It's gay, and even if it weren't, I don't see why unrelated announcements would be okay.

I've read through the rules a few times now. It seems the issue is interpretation. You think it's not gay enough. I think it is. And no one knows if it's actually off-topic, it seems. I don't think it is, you think it is. Other mods are okay with it. You're not. This shows how subjective this is. But please consider, I wanted to use that meme for helping other queer people gather the strength to live their lives. I made it with SPECIFICALLY queer people in mind. At the end of the day, I don't care enough, but it is important to me that you see my point. I made it specifically for the community. And as I read in the comments, there are people that I actually encouraged with my meme, and I want this positive effect to be in place. I apparently made people feel better, and that's the point. And it's gay in my eyes.
